Feathers of Steel

‘Feathers of Steel’ reflects a distinctly London landscape where urban and nature collide. It portraits of how we as a society have been affected and continue to alter the environment around us. The urban landscape is constantly changing, being destroyed and built up again and nowhere is this more visible in the city, where change occurs on a fast-paced, man-made timetable rather than on a slow, geological one.

‘Feathers of Steel’ is made up of 6 individual panels of glass and wood, suspended from a wall. Each panel is created using contemporary and traditional techniques and are composed of multiple layers of kiln-formed glass, screen-printed glass enamels and bold coloured hand-painted reclaimed wooden panels that fit together as a whole.
